Introducing the KZN Cycling Schools Road Series presented by aQuellé

KZN Cycling is proud to announce the launch of the brand-new KZN Cycling Schools Road Series, presented by aQuellé! This exciting initiative brings together young cyclists from across the province, giving schools and learners the opportunity to compete in a structured series of road races designed to showcase speed, skill, spirit, and strength.

The series consists of four races and a grand final, with each event hosted in different regions of KwaZulu-Natal. Riders will experience a variety of courses and challenges, helping them grow both competitively and personally while fostering a love for the sport.

Race Calendar:

Race 1: October 2025 – Biggarsberg Road Challenge

Race 2: November 2025 – Durban M13 Cycle Challenge

Race 3: February 2026 – Ugu Community Classic

Race 4: March 2026 – Richards Bay Cycle Challenge

Final: 19 April 2026 – aQuellé Tour Durban

The series promises thrilling racing, school pride, and a fantastic platform for young talent to shine.

General Rules & Regulations The following rules and regulations are allied to the participation criteria for the KZN Cycling Schools Road Series and are to be viewed in conjunction with the general series information. It must be noted that all standard rules and regulations applicable for road cycling events staged under the auspices of Cycling South Africa will apply, and these regulations do not supersede these existing rules.

3 Weeks to Go – WOA IQembu Cycle Challenge 2025

We’re counting down to Durban’s best team cycle event – the WOA IQembu Cycle Challenge, happening Sunday, 31 August 2025! Expect warm weather, flat roads, and a buzzing cycling atmosphere. Start time: 7:00am Distances & Team Sizes: • 100km TTT – Up to 10 riders (minimum 5 to finish) • 60km Challenge – Up to 6 riders (minimum 4 to finish) • 40km Challenge – Up to 4 riders (minimum 3 to finish) Prize Money: R50 000 for the winning 100km team Bikes: Road, TT, MTB, and gravel bikes welcome Course: Almost dead-flat with smooth road surfaces – perfect for fast racing or social riding Race Rules & Safety: To ensure a safe, fair event No drafting behind other teams Maintain a 20 bike length gap when overtaken Dropped riders must ride solo or withdraw – no rejoining teams Always keep left, pass right, then return left Marshals will be on course, and teams may report rule violations. The focus is on fairness, safety, and enjoyment for all. Why This is The Cycle Challenge to Enter: The IQembu Cycle Challenge has earned a reputation as one of the best value-for-money events in South Africa.
